This workshop critically examines how Eurocentrism functions as the dominant epistemological framework in academia, shaping research, pedagogy, and institutional practices. Designed for researchers and lecturers, this session will explore how Eurocentric narratives influence theories, curricula, and methodologies, often marginalizing diverse knowledge systems and perspectives.
Additionally, we will integrate an intersectional feminist lens to analyze how race, gender, class, and other systems of power intersect within Eurocentric academic structures. By engaging with feminist, decolonial, and anti-racist approaches, participants will develop strategies to challenge dominant frameworks and foster inclusive, socially just scholarship and teaching.
Through interactive discussions and practical strategies, participants will gain tools for critically interrogating existing structures, reframing research methodologies, and fostering pedagogical practices that centre diverse voices and knowledge systems.
